Nick's Guns & Range Inc.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), or as Rich likes to call it, the "FAQ YOU!" page.

1) Is e-mail a good way to get a hold of you?

No, not really. We check e-mail "when we can" and that is not every day. A phone call works best if you require a timely response.

2) Do you have a shooting range?

"Nick's Guns and RANGE". Duh.

2a) How late is the range open?

The range closes when the store closes.

3) Can you tell me over the phone how much you'll pay me for my gun ?

No. We MUST SEE THE GUN in all cases before giving an estimated purchase price. We CAN NOT give estimates over the phone, there are just far too many variables in terms of quality, condition, accessories, finishes, etc. Sorry!

4) Where can I get my CCW license / GA Firearms License / Carry Permit?

At your local probate court.

5) This gun I bought doesn't work right, can I get my money back?

Nick's Guns and Range will warranty any used gun we sell for 1 year. Repairs or problems with brand new guns are covered by the factory warranty. We can advise you on how to get your warranty information to the factory, and give you contact numbers. But we are not a Factory Authorized Warranty Repair Center nor a Factory Authorized Warranty Return Center for any firearms manufacturer.

6) Is this Ed's Gun and Tackle?

NO! Nick's Guns and Range is owned by General Guns, LLC. It was purchased from Ed's Gun and Tackle Inc., but some phone book ads and web reference remain. It is NOT the same ownership or company. It is, however, at the same physical location.

6a) What about my Ed's range credit slip from 1973?

Sorry, no Ed's Gun and Tackle Range credit will be honored unless it is dated later than September of '05.

7) Will I be asked to leave if I am wearing an Adolph Hitler / Che Guevara / Idi Amin Dada / Pol Pot / Nazi / Communist / child-molester etc. tee-shirt?

Yes.

7a) What about if I'm wearing sandals?

Maybe. If you're female, no. If you are male and have big hairy man-feet, probably.

9) Why is there no question 8?

It's one of life's great mysteries.

10) Can I shoot a shotgun on your range?

No.

   10a) Why not?

It damages the carrier and conveyor wires for the target holder.

11) Do you sell guns?

Yes.

12) Do you have a shooting range there?

Yes. See question 2.

12a) Do you have rifle lanes?

  Yes.

12b) What is the biggest rifle I can shoot on your range?

.300 Win Magnum. (That means .223 and 7.62x39 are OK.)

13) Can I buy Thompson/Center guns from you?

Yes, if you have a manufactures model/SKU number, we will be more than happy to order anything you like from Thompson/Center.

14) Do you have a gunsmith?

Yes.

15) Did Dave really steal cats?

Yes, he suffers from kleptopantherism, a rare disorder associated with 60 month financing programs.

16) My wife won't let me buy a gun, what should I do?

(Rich's response has been removed by the Editor for reasons of decorum. - Editor)

17) What happened to the guy with the white beard?

Jim is no longer employed here. I think he sells used cars now, or maybe real estate.

18) Do get a free box of ammo with my gun?

No.

   18a) Don't I get anything for buying a gun?

Yes, you get $25.00 worth of free range time.

19) Do you do FFL transfers?

Yes. Transfers are $30. For multiple guns in the same shipment, the cost is $30 for the first gun and $10 for each additional gun.

19a) When will the gun get there?

That depends on when the seller shipped it, and what method they used. We will call you when the gun arrives and is ready for pick-up.

19b) The FedEx/UPS website says it's there right now! It just came through the door! I wanna! Gimme now!

Hold your horses, cowboy. Federal regulations require us to check it in. This takes time. If the package comes in later in the afternoon, it will be ready for pick up the following morning. We will call you when the gun is ready to be picked up.

20) I have a felony / out of state drivers license / domestic violence conviction / no form of ID, can I buy a gun?

No, I would love to do business with you, but not at the cost of both of us going to Federal prison.

20a) Then can my girlfriend / wife / brother / friend buy the gun?

No, that is called a "straw purchase" and brings us right back to the Federal prison problem I mentioned previously.

21) Where can I do some real 'self defense' style shooting, you know, at like moving targets and short range and stuff like that?

Greater Atlanta Defensive Pistol Association. Great bunch of people, and a heck of a lot of fun.

22) This site looks boring. It needs more Flash animations!

No it doesn't. We like boring.

22a) You guys are cramping my style! How come?

Please bear in mind that not everyone has a high-speed internet connection. There are still poor children in third-world places like Winnipeg who have to live with dial-up. We don't need to add to their pain.
